NIMDTA is the Statutory Education Body for Northern Ireland, aiming to provide postgraduate medical & dental education to ensure that NI has access to the skilled workforce needed to deliver, develop and lead healthcare within NI. Education strategic goals include:

• To provide a trained medical workforce with the appropriate skill-mix for the needs of the NI population
• To use modern methods for delivering training that are efficient, effective and evidence-based
• To impart a training experience that prioritises staff wellbeing and promotes compassion
