An innovative leadership programme commenced 2023 with the aim of developing the next generation of multi-professional clinical education leaders . The session will cover the origins of the programme, the topics and the delivery of a national course in the post-covid environment and how this approach can be taken forward. |

There will be presentations from the speakers, following which the themes will be explored in small groups, facilitated by the speakers. |
What are the benefits to DEMEC attendees, your institution and/or to the medical/healthcare community? |
Emphasising the value of a an embedded multi-professional NHS leadership course, that addresses the practical nuts and bolts of how the NHS works, compared with the excellent generic leadership courses, available elsewhere. In so doing, it may influence attendees to consider these learning opportunities and help policy makers review the benefit of courses along these lines. |

Those presenting will vary from the most seniors leaders to those early in the leadership career. |

Mary-Rose has worked as a General Practitioner for 35 years. Alongside her clinical role, she has had a 20 year involvement in medical education. In her current role as Primary Care Dean, she champions workforce development in primary care in South London. She focusses on the pipeline, induction, clinical supervision, professional development, and retention of the primary care clinical team to ensure there are the relevant staff with the appropriate skills to look after the population health needs of South London. She is particularly interested in supporting and developing educators and ensuring training emphasises and addresses health equity. |

Rachael works across educational and workforce transformation in her roles as Clinical Education Lead in the Faculty for Advancing Practice in SW NHSE and as Clinical Lead for children and young people living with severe obesity and related complications in the Children’s and Young People’s Transformation Programme, NHSE. Rachael is a registered dietitian and currently works clinically within paediatrics. She is passionate about the power of prevention and the importance of meaningful careers supported by the right education, to be able to deliver the best healthcare. |

Fiona has been a General Practitioner for nearly 30 years, working in the West Midlands. After initially escaping the family career choice of education she has over the last 15 years developed an interest in firstly medical education, and now as Primary Care Dean for the West Midlands in the development and retention of the wider workforce in primary care. |

Bill Irish is Regional Postgraduate Medical Dean, at Cambridge University and across the East of England. He holds visiting professorships in medical education at the medical schools of Bristol, East Anglia and Anglia Ruskin Universities. He is lead dean for clinical academic training, trauma & orthopaedics, general surgery and clinical genetics. |

Hiu qualified in Medicine in 1989 at Nottingham, and is currently clinical active as a Consultant in Neuroanaesthesia. He has held leadership roles in Director of Medical Education, Associate postgraduate Dean, and now Deputy Postgraduate Dean since 2021. Hiu is Lead Dean for Palliative Medicine and Paediatric Surgery, as well as an NHS accredited workplace mediator and has a MSc in Medical Leadership (organisation psychology). |

Ben Wild is also Associate Dean for the Dental Foundation Training Programmes in NHSE NE&C, a role held for the past 5 years. On qualifying, entry into the very first pilot longitudinal foundation programme led to associate roles in primary care dentistry. After 7 years in general practice the first DFT ES role commenced alongside an initial foray into practice ownership and dento-political roles. A passion for educational innovation sparked a 10 year period as TPD before taking on the current role alongside an existing primary care role as Chief Clinical Officer of a dental practice group. |
