Professor John McLachlan

John McLachlan is currently Professor of Medical Education at UCLan, Psychometric Adviser to the UKFPO Foundation Recruitment Group, and was previously a Board Member of the UK Clinical Aptitude Test. He is a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and was awarded the 2022 ASME Gold Medal for his services to the discipline. He has a special interest in assessment and has been commissioned to review assessment processes by a number of bodies, including Royal Colleges, Health Education England and the GMC. He was a member of the GMC’s Expert Reference Group for the MLA.
