Professor Michael White
Professor Michael White is the Head of the History of Art Department at the University of York and an internationally recognised expert on modern art. He has written several books and more than fifty book chapters and articles, published in nine languages. He teaches broadly across his subject area, including theories of art and historical methodologies, and has long been interested in interdisciplinary teaching. In 2018 he developed a course on Art Law with the York Law School and has been teaching a module on close observation and description for the Hull York Medical School since 2020.
