Dr Mike Masding is National Clinical Director of the UK Foundation Programme Office. He was previously Head of Wessex Foundation School, and Foundation Programme Training Director at the trust where he does his clinical work as a Consultant Physician & Diabetologist. The subject of his MA(Ed) dissertation in 2010 was workplace supervision of foundation doctors, and he feels that Foundation training should continue to be well supervised and broad based, helping doctors as they make the transition from medical school and preparing them for their future in whatever specialty they choose.
