Dr Penelope Campling is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and author of On the Brink: Stories of Troubled Minds in Fractured Times, reflecting on mental health through stories from her 40-year career. She led Leicester’s personality disorder service for 20 years, emerging passionate about the potential for therapeutic communities and group therapy more generally, to change lives. Her books include Intelligent Kindness, which influenced healthcare culture and earned her an honorary RCGP fellowship. Now retired, she continues to lecture and campaign and supports clinicians on the front line.
