A13: Medical Workforce Hub: Reconciling trainee welfare, educational governance and care delivery during COVID-19

Session objectives:

  • Understand how to operationalise a multifunctional workforce hub
  • Describe the various strands of trainee welfare that can offered at a single point of access
  • Appreciate how educational leadership can mitigate the tensions between educational governance and the need for service delivery

Session summary:
The Medical Education department were concerned about assuring trainee welfare and experience during COVID-19, anticipating unpredictable workforce gaps, confrontation with novel disease and multiple environmental stressors.   We will explore the concept of Medical Workforce Hub,  designed as a single point of access for wellbeing services, educational assurance and redeployment.
