- To identify current medical students’ perceptions of changes to the medium of their medical education arising from the pandemic.
- In the context of COVID-19, to appraise facilitators and inhibitors to students’ development, confidence and sense of preparedness-for-practice.
- To consider students’ perceptions of the future landscape of undergraduate medical education.
This mixed-methods study uses surveys and focus groups to investigate how COVID-19 and the shift to online learning has impacted undergraduate medical education in terms of students’ learning, development and sense of preparedness-for-practice. I will discuss results from focus groups that are preliminarily indicative of students’ preference towards blended learning.
