B15 (1): Remote consultations in primary care for teaching medical students and developing best practice guidance

Session objectives:

  • To improve knowledge of how remote consultations are used in teaching medical students.
  • To increase understanding of differences between remote consultations on the LIC and traditional programme.
  • To develop best practice guidance for the use of remote consultations as a teaching tool.

Prior to Covid-19 Primary Care and medical school curricula focused on face-to-face consultations, with an absence of teaching guidance for students and educators in relation to remote-consultations. We compare the use of remote-consultations as a teaching tool on the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship and traditional programme, and develop best practice guidance.
