B14: Lost Behind a Screen: Re-personalising the Virtual Environment
Session speaker(s):
Ryan Devlin
Session objectives:
- To examine how we have tried to stay connected during the pandemic, both amongst peers, and between students and faculty
- To explore how the lessons of engagement during the lockdowns can be implemented beyond the pandemic for wellbeing and social engagement
- To provide students with ways of navigating and connecting with online medical communities, using the example of the MedEd community
Session summary:
The pandemic has highlighted more than ever the importance of pastoral support, as well as the challenges of connecting with people online. This session will explore what makes a successful pastoral support system, before looking at how these translate to online and encouraging delegates to reflect on their own support systems.
