- To consider the guidance provided by the GMC’s ‘Welcomed and valued’ publication.
- To understand the method of developing our local process (aligned to ‘Welcomed and valued’) on supporting trainees with a disability.
- To reflect on the early experience of implementing our support process informed by postgraduate doctors who are training with a disability.
Session summary:
Following our parallel session at DEMEC 2019, HEE Midlands has developed a process for supporting trainees with a disability aligned to the GMC’s ‘Welcomed and valued’ publication. This has been achieved by working closely with our trainees with a disability, trainers, specialist OH services and employers across East Midlands.
