C15 (1): Interim FY1 – improved preparedness and decreased anxiety – a longitudinal study of >4000 FY1s.
- Understand areas where FY1s feel they are not adequately prepared for practice as they transition from medical student to FY1.
- Understand the level of anxiety experienced by FY1s as they transition from medical student to FY1.
- Understand the impact of the FiY1 opportunity on preparedness to practice and anxiety levels when compared to previous FY1 cohorts.
The longitudinal FY1 induction survey was adapted to include information about undertaking an interim FiY1 post. The preparedness and anxiety levels of those who had undertaken an FiY1 was compared to their current peers who had not undertaken FiY1 and the previousFY1s from 2017-2019 who had responded to the survey.
