C9: Supporting International Medical Graduates (IMGs) in locally employed posts.
- Participants should be able to identify barriers and facilitators for IMGs to integrate into the work place and develop their careers.
- Identify themes that can improve IMG work and educational experience in non-training posts
- Design a model structure to support IMGs in locally employed posts to promote equal opportunity and potentially reduce differential attainment.
We plan 2 presentations followed by 20 minutes of discussion. The first speaker will speak about differential attainment and barriers and facilitators to integrate (20 mins). The second speaker will speak about supporting IMGs in locally employed posts (20 mins) addressing areas like mentoring, wellbeing, teaching and leadership.
