Session speaker(s):
Prof Bryn Baxendale
Jordan Buxton
Session objectives:
- Describe the latest research and evidence for the evaluation of simulation-based interventions.
- Introduce a set of best practice principles of simulation evaluation in healthcare.
- Provide case study examples of the application of the simulation evaluation principles in different healthcare professional development contexts.
Session summary:
Simulation is increasingly being utilised within healthcare education and training, but with inconsistent approaches toward evidenced based evaluation. This session will present a national project to establish principles of best practice for simulation evaluation and illustrate their application in practice.
