D15 (2): Designing an evaluation model for complex system-wide sim-based interventions in health and care
Prof Bryn Baxendale
- Describe the latest research and evidence for the evaluation of simulation-based interventions.
- Introduce a set of best practice principles of simulation evaluation in healthcare.
- Provide case study examples of the application of the simulation evaluation principles in different healthcare professional development contexts.
Simulation is increasingly being utilised within healthcare education and training, but with inconsistent approaches toward evidenced based evaluation. This session will present a national project to establish principles of best practice for simulation evaluation and illustrate their application in practice. Future links with commissioning and benefits realisation will be considered.
