D15 (3): Immersive Leadership & Management: What you can learn from a unique leadership programme for doctors-in-training

Session objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of the argument for the relevance of leadership & management to doctors-in-training
  • Develop an awareness of the unique, clinically relevant and popular features of a year-long, immersive clinical leadership & management programme
  • Consider how an evidence-based framework might be used to maximise the relevance and success of your own leadership & management initiatives

Session summary:
This session will explore our experiences of delivering an immersive ‘leadership & management programme’ within an NHS arm’s-length body. Based on data from participating doctors-in-training over five years, we will review a framework likely to maximise the success of your own current and future leadership & management initiatives.
