Session objectives:

  • Allow participants to gain an understanding of how the co-created vision of Future Doctors will be delivered through the enhancing generalist skills programme
  • Exploring how this can help to respond to pandemics and the already evolving needs and expectations of population
  • Provide participants the opportunity to explore current delivery models and offer feedback on proposals for implementation 

Session summary:
This session will outline the development and implementation of a wraparound development offer for healthcare professions, based on the output of HEE’s Future Doctor report. The programme is based within healthcare systems and stakeholder fora include providers, employers, patients, doctors and the wider healthcare workforce. We will outline our proposals to develop doctors with enhanced generalist skills and explain how this can be developed, implemented and delivered in practice.
