D8: Rethinking Medicine as the new paradigm and what this means for medical education 

Session objectives:

  • Understand and engage with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges’ vision of Rethinking Medicine
  • Engage their sector with this vast and critical agenda and contribute to the evolution of the educational aspects of it
  • To be willing to review own organisation education provision and consider changes needed in the light of the new paradigm

Session summary:
Rethinking Medicine reframes personalised care, considering the whole person including their social and demographic factors through their NHS journey. It is a way to bring together myriad current initiatives, coherently to ensure maximum collaboration and minimise waste in the NHS, whilst aspiring to deliver the ‘quadruple aims’.
